postdoctoral research

The postdoctoral program is dedicated exclusively to research. In our group, researchers can conduct their postdoctoral research for a period of 12 to 24 months. The rules and deadlines for submitting proposals follow the schedule of the USP Law School. Postdoctoral proposals may be submitted twice a year. The deadlines are March 31 and September 30. The requirements for acceptance into the program are:

General requirements, as defined by the USP Law School
  • Doctoral degree
  • A research proposal demonstrating competence in the chosen topic and featuring a plausible research hypothesis, appropriate methodology, and a feasible work schedule
  • Postdoctoral scholarship or own source of funding
  • Residence in the city of São Paulo (starting from the beginning of the program)
Specific requirements of the Constitution, Politics & Institutions group
  • Letter of motivation
  • Full-time dedication to research (exception: teaching activities at an educational institution)
  • Willingness to participate in all group activities
  • Acceptance into the postdoctoral program entitles the recipient to use the facilities and services of the entire University of São Paulo (libraries, restaurants, sports center), but does not entitle the recipient to housing. Nor does it imply entitlement to funding paid by the University of São Paulo.
