The research group Constitution, Politics and Institutions gathers different research agendas derived from the interaction of those three concepts, and pursues diverse methodological perspectives and analytical approaches. The group, which is formed by researchers of different legal backgrounds (among professors, post-grad and under-grad students), benefits from the cross-fertilisation generated both by the theoretical and applied research endeavours of its members. Our main goal, through our several research initiatives, is to offer a forum of horizontal intellectual encounter between diverse areas of legal scholarship. Our perception is that legal research remains too insulated and individualistic, and does not take advantage of the potential synergies that arise when projects are scrutinised in a collective environment inspired by an ethics of collegiality and interdisciplinary curiosity. We ultimately expect to strengthen not only the quality and scope of legal research, but the spirit of intellectual engagement in the Faculty of Law at the University of São Paulo.
